Calgary Cub Jessye Jay Brown Commits to Edmonton Collegiate Hawks
The Calgary Cubs are proud to celebrate the next step in the baseball journey of Jessye Jay Brown, who has officially committed to join the Edmonton Collegiate Hawks where he will study Business.
Brown, who wears #23 and plays pitcher and first base, is well-known for his competitiveness on the mound—and for walking out to “TSU” by Drake. One of his proudest baseball memories to date is pitching a complete game at the U15 Provincials, a moment that showcased his resilience and talent. He credits Jordy Alexander as the biggest influence on his baseball development. Brown also shared how his time with Baseball Calgary and the Calgary Cubs shaped his readiness for the next level.
“They helped me grow as a player by pushing me to improve my skills, compete at a higher level, and understand the game more deeply. The coaching staff held me to a high standard, and that mindset prepared me for the next level,” he said.
While excited for what comes next, Brown admits he’ll miss one thing most: “Hanging out with the boys.”
To younger players coming up through the system, he leaves simple but meaningful advice: “Enjoy the moment.”
The Cubs community congratulates Jessye on his commitment and looks forward to cheering him on as he continues his baseball career with the Hawks in fall 2026.
